Sana Sana

2012 Mixed media assemblage.

The image comes from actual road signs found in the U.S. to warn drivers of crossing families. The title, Sana, Sana, is the beginning of a saying said by mothers to little children who hurt themselves to make them feel better, rubbing the afflicted area, they will repeat, "Sana, sana..." This piece represents a prayer of protection for the undocumented families in all countries whose lives are in constant potential threat.
